iPod classic or touch?
I’m stuck between the 2.
It’s going to be my first iPod for myself and I don’t know which one I should take! Here’s a picture showing the pros and cons of each model.
As you can see, the price of the iPod touch is a big con, and so is the small hard flash disk capacity. The wifi is a major boost though. Being able to check my mail on the go for free at one of the wireless hotspots in singapore is very enticing indeed.
Then again, battery life is important for an NS man. But how long am I really going to care about the battery life? Only for the 2 weeks confinement I guess. I’m not very excited about swiping through interfaces with my fingers though. The last time i tried it, it was exciting for 5mins at most, and then I got tired of it. =x
So what should I get? A classic, or a touch? That is the question.

iPod Classic, bleah. Unless you got a lot of $$ and cannot tahan till the iPhone comes.

Get a classic! Touch screen at the moment is very ‘in’, confirm very ex. But soon it will be very normal and the technology on touch screen will be even more advanced. iphone and such that uses this first generation touch screen tech will be cheap later on. Same thing happens when the first LCD screen came out. Lousy quality but super ex. I saw a clip about multi-touch interface computer (the one seen in minority report… man this kinda thing is already out! Although at the moment it is only available to the army but it was mentioned that sonetime along next year, it will be available to the general market.
Well for me, ipod classic is the choice for me. Large capacity and long hour playback~ simply sweet!

CLASSIC DEFINATELY. touch the screen always gets dirty. with the finger prints and stuffs.
much more easily damaged and less durable compared to the classic.
i had the same problem but now! im getting the classic today!
touch screens aren’t that nice. i prefer my good old fashioned buttons.
also, unless your gonna use the wifi often. no point getting it.
also the battery finishes really fast. a movie or two and its done.
